The Patria Titan: Home in a New Material

The Patria is Tutima's tribute to hand-wound Glashütte tradition. At its center sits Caliber 617 — 171 parts, assembled entirely by one watchmaker working alone at a single bench. The process takes weeks.

Inside, a Breguet overcoil hairspring is shaped in-house. The overcoil is a specific hairspring geometry that forces the spring to breathe concentrically, which keeps time more consistently across positions. Tutima regulates each Cal. 617 in six positions. Most manufacturers stop at five. The power reserve runs to 65 hours. The crown is the only moving part you touch — there is no rotor, no automatic winding. Hand-wound. Always.

Glashütte finishing covers every surface, including those no owner will see. This is the standard.

The Patria's material history mirrors the line's quiet evolution. It began in rose gold with the Patria Admiral. Then came stainless steel versions, bringing the Cal. 617 to a wider audience. For 2025, the Ref. 6612 series introduces grade 5 titanium — the first time the Patria has been built in this material.

Titanium changes what a hand-wound watch feels like on the wrist. It is lighter than steel. It resists scratches more effectively. And it is warm against the skin in a way steel never is — where steel draws heat away from your body, titanium stays at skin temperature almost immediately. A hand-wound watch is a daily ritual: you pick it up, you wind it, you put it on. In titanium, that daily contact feels different from the first moment.

What has not changed: Cal. 617, the Breguet overcoil, the six-position regulation, the hand-finishing on invisible surfaces. The same movement. The same standards. The same single watchmaker.

The Patria range starts around €2,200 for the entry-level model and rises considerably for gold. The Titan sits in between — a Glashütte hand-wound manufacture caliber in grade 5 titanium, starting around €2,600.
