High-profile visit on the ocean yacht
Day of German Unity 2016
Saxon Prime Minister at the helm of the Tutima racing yacht in front of the Dresden Frauenkirche
For the unity celebration from October 1 to 3, Tutima showcased its presence in Dresden – and the Saxon Prime Minister was on board: right next to the Frauenkirche, the Glashütte watchmaker anchored its racing yacht dedicated to sailing, where Tutima Managing Director Jörg Delecate and the Tutima women's sailing crew welcomed the prominent helmsman Stanislaw Tillich.
The titanium-gray 14-meter racer – an unmistakable symbol of limitless freedom and cosmopolitanism – presented itself to guests from around the world in the Elbe metropolis. A ship that otherwise also draws attention: the 15-member, multiple award-winning Tutima sailing team navigates the ocean yacht through wind and waves at inte ational regattas and was available for questions and experience reports during the unity celebration.
Throughout its history, Tutima has also navigated through turbulent times: founded in 1927 in Glashütte, the brand was displaced from Saxony to Lower Saxony in the post-war turmoil. In 2008, the traditional manufactory made its comeback at its founding location. Here, a new collection of highest-quality timepieces "made in Glashütte" was created. The latest addition: the M2 Seven Seas with a water resistance of up to 50 bar.
Created out of love for the sea – and its own roots: In every Tutima, the ideals of Glashütte watchmaking and a piece of German history are manifested.
