In 2006, Tutima co-founded the Academy of Aviation Safety near Salinas, California, with Sean D. Tucker — National Aviation Hall of Fame, over 24,000 flight hours. The Academy trains professional and hobby pilots in critical flight situations. The Flieger Aero Club is the watch they wear in the cockpit. Cal. 330 — 1941 Flieger DNA in a purpose-built cockpit instrument.

A Saxon bank sent a young lawyer to Glashütte to restructure failing workshops. Ernst Kurtz consolidated them into UROFA-UFAG, developed twelve calibers, and built one of the first German chronograph wristwatches: the Fliegerchronograph, Cal. 59, around 30,000 produced 1941–1945. His brother Walter was a test pilot.
