About This Watch

Functions: Hour, minute, small second. Minute repeater for hours, quarter hours, and minutes on two gongs. 550 movement parts, Glashütte three-quarter-plate, gold-plated, matte flat parts, all dial train components finished by hand: all bevels polished and surfaces tin-polished, hand-engraved balance cock and and barrel cover of striking mechanism with relief engraving, winding wheels with click and sunburst polishing, gear train with fine mirror polish. Case details: Domed sapphire crystal anti-reflective. See-through back with sapphire crystal.

The Minute Repeater

The first minute repeater developed in-house in Germany for a wristwatch. Over 550 components. Sound geometry developed with the Institut für Musikinstrumentenbau at TU Dresden — the gongs are tuned to concert pitch A to compensate for the density of platinum.

Twenty-five pieces total — twenty in rose gold, five in platinum. The first wrist minute repeater developed in-house in German watchmaking history.

Three years of development by Rolf Lang's team. Sound geometry with the TU Dresden Institute for Musical Instrument Construction. Hours tuned to concert pitch A (440 Hz), minutes to high C (264 Hz). The day the Berlin Wall fell, Dieter Delecate drove east. In 2005, he found a heritage-listed railway building in Glashütte with a sign in the window: 'I COULD BE YOURS.' He bought it. Production began March 1, 2008 — sixty-three years after the Soviets dismantled the original.
