Mastering the race against time

Dragon Grand Prix Germany 2012 The inte ational sailing world had its eyes on the “Weiße Wiek” race area in the Baltic seaside resort of Boltenhagen. From 30 June to 3 July, the best Dragon sailors competed over four intense days. The coveted HM Queen Silvia Sailing Trophy went to helmsman Evgen Braslavetz (Ukraine)—a former Olympic gold medalist—together with his crew Sergey Timokhov and Aleksandr Mirchuk. The Dragon class is considered the royal discipline of sailing. Anyone who competes here depends on timing that remains reliable in wind and waves. As official timekeeper, Tutima—manufacturer of professional instrument watches from Glashütte—supported top athletic performance by helping record best times with precision. Tutima Managing Director Jörg Delecate honored the winners with a Pacific watch featuring a carbon dial, each valued at around €1,000: “We are delighted to support a high-level sailing event like the Dragon Grand Prix,” said Delecate. “With our products, we provide the answer to the high standards of the water-sports elite.” Tutima’s commitment extends beyond Mecklenburg Bay: the tradition-rich company has repeatedly taken a position as sponsor of renowned sailing events. For the eighth year, Tutima also served as Official Timekeeper of the Kiel Week regattas.
